This week's #Anahita #Hackathon was focused on porting and rewriting all the #mootools javascript to #JQuery as well as researching and prototyping #MobileFirst UIs for the Dashboard and Actor profiles.

Katniss, a girl on fire!

Hi Nick, moving away from #mootools is definitly a great next step. I would be carefull though to replace it with Emberjs, or any other full page js framework by default. It all depends what you are trying to achieve and what your usecase is. A few points that we use ourselves as guidance : 1. We have replaced #mootools in in Nooku Fw 2.0 with jQuery where required but try to do this in such ...

Focusing on back-end. Front-end in AngularJS.

People debate #Angularjs vs #Backbone endlessly. I personally prefer #Emberjs. Its a much more extensive option with a great data layer. (Here's a great article comparing the two.) #AngularJS just looks ugly to me. The non-standard html tags and attribute just look kinda wrong. #Backbone on the other hand is a nice light, minimalistic framework that we can use to replace #mootools and add in f...

Refreshing my #mootools knowledge!
Alright so we are officially polishing the code so we can merge it with the master branch. There are no traces of #mootools left and everything is working with #JQuery now.

Going about MobileFirst in Anahita 4.1

Here is how we are going to approach the #MobileFirst implementation.

2. introduce #AngularJS and #JQuery to Anahita and gradually remove all the #Mootools code.

3. redesign the layouts and UIs based on MobileFirst approach.

2 and 3 may be happening in...

Katniss, a girl on fire!

I've been thinking about how to proceed with replacing the #mootools code in #Anahita for awhile. The idea of using #Emberjs crossed my mind a few times so I sat down today and threw together a quick example. It's not much, but you can check out a demo here (click on People in the menu) and the source code here.

Anahita already has some great APIs to handle this sort of thing.  I just threw to...

Handlebars

Heya @Rastin,

I was wondering if you had thought about implementing #handlebars as part of the templating system in #anahita. I think I saw it mentioned in the Nooku group, but I wasn't sure if that'd be carried over here. I've been thinking about migrating our #MooTools code and how to handle some of it. Just wondering.
