I wanted to let you know, Rastin and Ash, that I've closed my Anahita site.

Although a nascent site, it was real, with customizations; and, it did have action.

LaSalleMart 2.0 is released. Its listing on the JED is pending (eventually!). Work is ongoing to smooth out the rough edges + add little features along the way.

This month, with LM2 "under my belt", I will re-ignite my Club Commerce concept. Anahita's always been the integral aspect of Club Commerce. However, what's changed is the software development aspect of it.

Originally, my Club concept was a support + project management site. Anahita is a brilliant for this usage. Now, my Club concept is more software development oriented. In fact, to borrow a phrase, "the medium is the message" -- my members' participation is the software development process.

I was to have Anahita, and then use either Assembla.com or Atlassian.com for software development. I am using Atlassian, starting with JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket (what, no GitHub!). Now, I want to fuse membership participation with software development. To achieve this fusion, I will have my Club members on Confluence.

My "use case" has changed, so I'm moving to something that is suitable for what I want to achieve.

Confluence is no Anahita. It's not out of the question to return to Anahita 3.0 using the Atlassian API. Doing this requires a critical mass of members, and an increased experience with Atlassian.

My latest "LaSalleMart News" podcast (http://southlasallemedia.com/2013/lasallemart16) mentions that I have reduced my websites to a "mere" 4, with the absence of my Anahita site. It was not enjoyable recording this change, and my concern was that people not think that there is anything about Anahita that caused the change.

My participation in Anahitapolis has dropped to zilch. However, I still receive email notifications -- I read them all. I read all your blog posts.

I wanted to update you on what is happening. I will update you as I progress.

Congrats on your new Gastown digs!
-Bob

My participation in Anahitapolis.com has ebbed and flowed over the last while. I launched LaSalleMart 2.0, and was so unsatisfied with my handiwork that I spent an extra month re-launching it. In so doing, I launched a brand new Joomla distro at LaSalleCMS.com.

My Anahita site is untouched, except that it now resides in the webroot, and not in a folder off the root. Enjoy the promotion, you deserve it!

Today I tried, and failed, to create a com_content article that appears on the home page. Which caused me to take an unscheduled tour of the Anahita source code -- and a fine tour it was. For a second, I almost renamed LaSalleMart "K-Mart", but I think that name is taken. The problem with being a hackerpreneur is the habit of messing with source code needs to be resisted on occassion. So, ultimately, I just linked to a regular article from Sidebar-B -- no source code was harmed in my haste.

I follow Anahitapolis regardless of what I'm doing, but "follow" is passive and participation is active. And a community need "active", not "passive". I really have to post something at least weekly.

My Anahita site is at http://SouthLaSalleCommerce.com. It's purpose is to provide "social styled" support to advanced users of LaSalleMart. I want "Club Commerce" members ot interact with each other, and use my Anahita site as a way to get deeper into the technolgoy in terms of developing/customizing, and learning it. I can't imagine using a forum or ticket system. Yuck!

I'm looking forward to the new search feature. Amazing how involved this feature got.

All my best, Anahitapolis-ites!
