I go to my local pub at least twice a week because my wireless connection is so much better there 4G. I sit in a corner and quietly listen to the regular drunkards as I painstakingly toil away. Sometimes it's entertaining. Most of the time it's educational. When I finally notice that they think I'm 'a bit out of place', I ask the group in my immediate setting, "What music do you like, what's your favourite song?" With questioning expressions on their face, they hesitantly offer up a few suggestions. I do a quick search on youtube and put the loud speaker on. They nod and smile and sometimes even give the old thumbs up. They return to their oh so intoxicated conversations. My ears receive more fully their stories, as I return to my toil with their music playing loudly there in front of me. Somewhere in between the music and stories being heard, my humane purpose is exposed, and I am accepted.
That was quite story. Thanks for sharing. We don't play music in this place, because people are all working and there is always a chill background music playing. I come here during the week when I have lots client communication todo. The conversations and people are always interesting.
