Suggestion - Facebook Connect Profile Migration

Hi, Will your Facebook Connect allow for profile migration. I would like to see where we may use your component to create profile fields and we are able to map them against already existing fields in Facebook Profile. Similar to JFBConnect component #suggestions

We haven\'t started developing the facebook connect yet, perhaps in 3 weeks from now we will start working on it. Then we will be collecting ideas from all the partners :)
Looking forward to contributing.

Workflow suggestion for Facebook, after a user has opt to use Facebook Connect (initial sign up) the next window should present the email address field for their profile.

I liked how http://www.thread.com has done there sign up process.

That\'s one solution, but is it possible to make the user sign up for your site first and then present them with the ability to connect with their facebook account? This would bypass the facebook email issue and also curb the number of \"dual registrations\" from people who don\'t sign in to your site before they connect. Just make is something that is only available after you\'re already logged in and only allow the \"sync accounts\" option instead of \"create new account\" option.

I will not suggest anything for this feature, since we all have our opinions and needs specifically for our site.

We just need something that generally simply works for all Anahita-powered sites. Anything customary should be handled by the users (including myself) ourselves.

ps:

Dale-Kurt Murray is quite well-known in Joomla world; as both users and contributors.

Dale-Kurt, in all good means, I am counting on you on how Facebook Connect will integrated with Anahita! I hope we are not repeating the same issues we have with other social components out there!

Like you have said, how thread.com handles their sign up process could be used as example/guidance.

Facebook connect and other extensions that will allow integration with existing social networks will be amongst the first group of extensions that we will be developing, but first we have to deliver the 0.9.4 release, because all the applications will be using the new API.
